A New Life, Now
Minneola it has been a year like no other and as we enter into this Easter season I am reminded of God’s enduring promise to always bring new life. We continue to straddle this in-between time and wrestle with communal and person decisions about what to do, what is best, what are the risks, but even in the midst of that messiness I also see life sprouting anew in our community.
I have been witnessing a new energy and fire in the community to end “the pause” we have been on and to take up the reigns of the ministries we have and reevaluate them for a new time and a new world. From the pancake breakfast to graduation Sunday, from Sunday worship to ditch clean up, the people of Minneola are rising to these new challenges and saying, “yes” we can live into these ministries, now!
I know part of this renewed energy is the longer days, brighter sun and warmer weather, but I also know that as creation goes through her seasons so do we as humans. We have had a hibernating winter like no other and now that spring is upon us, the Holy Spirit is within us, as individuals and as a community. Minneola, like Christ, we are coming out of the cold, dark tomb and walking into a new life, a new season for Minneola Lutheran Church.
I am humbled and grateful to have been in the tomb with you all and I am excited to see where the Holy Spirit is leading us as we emerge anew. Jesus came and he came that we might have life and not just any life, but an abundant life. As you feel your seedlings of life and faith emerge this spring share that abundant promise with those around you, family, friends and even strangers. Welcome and share the utter joy of Christ’s abundant life with the world.
Peace on your spring,
Pr. Hannah
